PAIA & Access to Information

Last updated: 25 August 2026

This page provides website-level access-to-information guidance. Whether QAS is required to maintain or publish a formal PAIA manual depends on its legal structure and applicable exemptions, and should be confirmed with a South African legal/compliance adviser.

1. Access requests

Requests for access to records held by Quality Accounting Services may be directed to Lisa Viljoen at lisa@qualityaccountingservices.co.za. Please clearly identify the record requested, your contact details, the form of access required and the right you are seeking to exercise or protect.

2. Records

Depending on the nature of the business relationship and applicable legal requirements, QAS may hold business administration, client engagement, accounting, tax, payroll, correspondence, supplier, website and statutory records. Access may be restricted where confidentiality, legal privilege, third-party rights, tax secrecy, data protection or another lawful ground applies.

3. Fees and process

Where the Promotion of Access to Information Act, 2000 (PAIA) applies to a request, prescribed procedures and fees may apply. QAS may request sufficient information to verify identity and authority before releasing records.

4. POPIA requests

Requests specifically concerning your personal information may also be made under the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA). See the QAS Privacy & POPIA Notice.

5. Regulator information

The Information Regulator of South Africa provides information about PAIA and POPIA rights, forms and complaint procedures. See inforegulator.org.za for current official guidance.
